Galvanised Malleable Iron Equal Tee
Galvanised Malleable Iron Equal Tee used to connect three tubes, fittings or male spigots.
At Plumb Parts in Glasgow, we stock a wide range of Black and Galvanised Malleable Iron Pipe Fittings.
Due to their durability, corrosion resistance and mechanical strength, these fittings are ideal when compared to grey cast iron and mild steel.
Galvanised malleable fittings are solidly made for long-lasting durability and dependability. The zinc coating resists rust, which makes them useful for water and plumbing work in Schools, Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Warehouses, and Industrial Spaces. For gas, use black malleable iron instead.
Malleable iron pipe fittings are available in black and galvanised finishes with the majority of fittings having the BSI Kitemark approval and conforming to BS EN 10242 and have UL approval.
Our stock of malleable iron fittings is of the Blackheart type which is ideally suited to pipe fittings and manufacturing processes which conforms to BS EN 1562.
Malleable Fittings Features & Benefits
Offer taper to taper threaded joints ensuring uniform stressing of threads due to full engagement between male and female threads, thus avoiding localised stress.

Specially tested fittings for high pressures above 25 bar
Have a full clear bore.
Threads with precise axial alignment ensure high sealing forces and a straight pipe run
Have a high factor of safety over the working pressure.

Common Questions
What is an equal tee used for? It joins three pipes or male fittings of the same size, with a straight run and a branch at 90 degrees.
Can I take a smaller branch off an equal tee? Not directly, as all three ports are the same size. Fit a hexagon bush in the branch, or go for a reducing tee instead.
Can I use galvanised fittings with black iron pipe? They’ll screw together if the threads match, but it’s best to stay with one finish through a system. Black iron is the normal choice for gas, which needs a Gas Safe registered engineer.
What are galvanised pipes? They’re steel or iron pipes coated in zinc to resist rust. You’ll still find them in older buildings and on outdoor or industrial pipework.
Can I use galvanised fittings with brass? They thread together, but different metals in contact can corrode over time, especially when wet. Keep an eye on mixed joints.
Can I collect galvanised fittings in Glasgow? Yes, you can collect from our trade counter at 555 South Street, Glasgow G14 0QX, or order online for delivery.
