Equal tees are used on distribution runs, loops and headers where branches match the main. For example, a 22mm tee can feed a 22mm drop to a washroom, while a 54mm tee splits a header into two equal legs. If the branch needs to be smaller, use a reduced tee instead and save a reducer.

Set out all three pipes so they meet the tee without strain. Cut each one square, deburr it, wipe it and mark the depth. Push them in and turn the tee so the branch points the right way. Press each socket with the right jaw, checking the marks before and after. On long runs, clip the pipe on each side of the tee so it does not take the weight of the branch.
