The McAlpine 50mm Seal Resealing Shower Trap sits under a shower tray and holds a 50mm water seal to stop drain smells. Its outlet is 1 1/2″, which is the 40mm waste pipe size most showers run on. We sell it with an 85mm CP Plastic flange or a 70mm CP Stainless Steel Mushroom flange. So if you are after a shower trap 40mm waste will connect to, this does the job. It suits plumbers and bathroom fitters on a new tray or a swap.
It is a resealing trap, built to hold its water seal when the waste runs full, so the trap is less likely to be pulled dry and let smells in. The outlet has a 1 1/2″ BSP thread with a Multifit connection for the 40mm waste. Pick the flange to suit the tray and the finish you want.

Most showers in the UK run on 1 1/2″ (40mm) waste pipe, and that is what this trap connects to. Check your tray’s waste hole size as well.
How do I measure what shower trap I need?
Measure the hole in the shower tray and compare it with the flange size. Then check the size of the waste pipe below.
Do showers need a trap?
