Armaflex Class O Pipe Insulation 20mm x 25mm

Armaflex Class O Pipe Insulation 20mm x 25mm gives a thick 25mm wall for pipe with a 20mm outside diameter, so think 20mm plastic or multilayer runs that pass through very cold spaces. The 25mm wall of sealed-cell foam slows heat loss on warm pipes and keeps cold ones from gathering water on the surface.

When the 25mm wall makes sense

A heavy wall on a small pipe is not always needed, but it pays off in some places. For example, a cold supply running up an outside wall, a pipe under a suspended timber floor, or a chilled line where dripping would mark a ceiling. If the pipe is in a heated room, a thinner grade will usually do and takes up less space.

• Made for 20mm outside diameter pipe
• 25mm closed-cell foam wall
• Close to 70mm across when fitted
• Supplied as 2 metre tubes
• Class O fire grade, as the name says

At around 70mm overall, check you have the room before you start. Push butt joints together with a little squeeze so they do not open up later, and glue them. Armaflex Class O Pipe Insulation 20mm x 25mm cuts cleanly with a sharp knife, so there is no fibre mess. See other sizes in the pipes, hoses and insulation section.

Common Questions

Why choose the 25mm wall on 20mm pipe?

The thicker wall cuts heat gain on chilled lines and gives the most frost protection on cold runs. Use it where the specification calls for 25mm.

How many 2m tubes of 20mm x 25mm cover 14m of pipe?

Seven lengths cover 14m. Buy one spare for elbows and valve bodies.

Can 20mm x 25mm Armaflex go near a hot flue?

Keep it away from flues and hot surfaces beyond its rated range. Check Armacell’s temperature limit before fitting near heat sources.
