Armaflex Class O Pipe Insulation 54mm x 13mm

Armaflex Class O Pipe Insulation 54mm x 13mm is made for 54mm copper and gives it 13mm of foam all round. As a light grade, it is a sensible choice for heating mains inside warm buildings, where it trims heat loss without adding much bulk.

Armaflex Class O Pipe Insulation 54mm x 13mm on copper mains

In commercial work, 54mm copper is often the main heating or water distribution size. Inside heated spaces, the thin wall cuts wasted heat and keeps ceiling voids from getting too warm. If the main runs into a cold area, switch to a thicker wall for that stretch.

• Bore to fit 54mm copper
• 13mm closed-cell wall
• About 80mm overall fitted
• Sold in 2 metre lengths

The finished size is around 80mm, which suits most bracket spacings. If the pipe is not yet fixed, slide the lengths on first. On pipe already clipped up, split the tube, put it round the pipe and glue the seam with Armaflex 520 adhesive. Make up short pieces for tees and bends. There are more sizes in our pipes, hoses and insulation range.

Common Questions

What is 54mm x 13mm Armaflex for?

It insulates 54mm copper heating mains inside warm buildings. The 13mm wall is the light, space saving grade.

How many 54mm lengths do I need for a 12m plant room run?

Six 2m lengths cover 12m. Take a couple more for the tees and valves that are common in plant rooms.

Can I insulate a 54mm pipe without draining it?

Yes, slit the tube and wrap it round the live pipe, then glue the seam. The pipe should be dry and clean.
