Armaflex Class O Pipe Insulation 76mm x 19mm fits 76.1mm pipe, which takes in 76mm copper and 2 1/2 inch steel, and gives it 19mm of sealed foam. It is often used on commercial heating and water mains that pass through cooler areas.

Fitting Armaflex Class O Pipe Insulation 76mm x 19mm

At this size the tube is best fitted after the pipe is hung. Cut along the length, open it round the pipe and apply Armaflex 520 adhesive to both edges. Once it is touch dry, press the seam closed from one end to the other. Do the same at each butt joint, so there are no gaps.

What does Class O mean on pipe insulation? It’s a fire performance rating tested to BS 476 Parts 6 and 7, and this tube meets it. It also carries a Euroclass of B-s3, d0.

What is Armaflex made of? It’s a closed cell nitrile rubber foam made by Armacell. Moisture struggles to get into it and there are no loose fibres, so it’s pleasant to work with.
