Convent+ Single Retro-Fit White 100mm Flue Clip

The Convent+ Single Retro-Fit White 100mm Flue Clip is a single white support clip for a boiler flue with a 100mm outer diameter. The retro-fit name means it is meant to go onto a flue run that is already in place, rather than only on a new install.

What it is used for

Long flue runs sag if they are not held up, and a sagging flue can let condensate sit in the wrong place or put strain on the joints. Supporting the flue at roughly 1m intervals, and at changes of direction, keeps it straight and taking the right fall. On a 60/100 concentric flue, 100mm is the size of the outer pipe you would be clipping.

What to check first

• Diameter: 100mm outer flue only. It will not suit 125mm or other flue sizes.
• Boiler maker: some boiler manufacturers want their own brackets used on their flue systems. Check the installation manual before fitting a third-party clip.

How many flue clips does a boiler flue need?

As a guide, one about every metre along the run and one at each change of direction. The boiler maker’s flue instructions have the final say, so check them for your model.

Will a 100mm clip fit a 60/100 flue?

Yes, the 100 refers to the outer pipe of a 60/100 concentric flue, which is what this clip goes round. It will not suit 80/125 or other sizes.

Can I fit a flue clip myself?

Supporting a flue is part of the gas installation, so the work should be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer. They will also check the fall and the joints while they are at it.
