The Grundfos Alpha 2L 15-60 is a central heating circulator with seven settings and up to 6m head. A common swap for an older domestic pump, sold at Plumb Parts in Glasgow.
The Grundfos Alpha 2L 15-60 is a domestic central heating circulator that gives up to 6m of head. It has seven settings, so one pump covers a lot of different houses.
Settings on the Grundfos Alpha 2L 15-60
You get three fixed speeds plus four variable settings. The fixed speeds work like an old three-speed pump. The variable modes let the pump change its output as TRVs open and close, which uses less power and keeps the system quieter. It is A energy rated, so running costs are low.
- Up to 6m head
- Seven settings: 3 fixed speeds and 4 variable
- For domestic wet central heating systems
- Comes with gaskets and installation instructions
Close the pump valves either side, and keep a tray and cloth handy because some water will come out. Fit new gaskets every time, and check the arrow points the way the water flows. Refill, bleed the air out and start on a lower setting. Only turn it up if radiators at the far end are slow. If the old pump valves are seized, change them while the system is drained.
