The McAlpine Centre Pin Basin Waste has a polished stainless steel 60mm flange and a black PVC plug. This listing is the 1¼” version with plug, chrome chain and stay (BSW1PC). This McAlpine basin waste suits plumbers and homeowners fitting a new basin or replacing a tired old waste.

What is a basin waste?
It is the outlet fitted in the plug hole of a basin. The flange sits in the bowl, the plug seals it, and the tail below connects to the trap.
What size waste does a basin take?
Basins normally take a 1¼” waste, which goes onto a 32mm trap. Baths, showers and sinks normally take 1½”, so check your basin and trap before ordering.
Do I need the chain and stay version?
Only if you want the plug kept on a chain. The stay fixes the chain to the basin, so the plug can’t be lost or dropped down the side.
Why choose a stainless steel flange?
Chrome plating can wear and peel over time on a waste that gets daily use. A polished stainless steel flange keeps its finish.
