The XPress Copper Gas Stop End, maker code SG61, caps the end of a copper gas pipe with one press joint, and we sell it from 15mm to 108mm for Gas Safe registered engineers on domestic and commercial gas work. It is part of the Pegler Yorkshire XPress gas range, with a yellow gas seal and a yellow gas marking on the body so it can’t be confused with the water fittings.
Use it to cap a branch left for a future appliance, close off a redundant leg when equipment comes out, or seal a line for testing. The range is for above ground natural gas and LPG pipework, inside and outside buildings.
Cut the copper square, deburr inside and out, and mark the insertion depth so you can see the pipe is fully home before pressing. Use the right size jaws for your tool and keep flux, grease, paint and solvents off the fitting. All gas work has to be done and tested by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Common Questions
How do I tell gas XPress from water XPress? The gas fittings carry a yellow marking and a yellow gas seal. Water fittings have black O-rings and no gas mark.
Can I use XPress Copper Gas Stop End fittings outside? Yes, above ground. The range is approved for internal and external gas pipework, with a lower working pressure inside buildings than outside.
Is it OK for LPG? Yes. The XPress gas range covers natural gas and LPG.
Which press jaws do I need? The standard sizes press with M profile jaws in the matching size. The large sizes need the right jaws or collars for your tool, so check your kit covers them before you start.
