The Polyplumb Tank Connector makes a watertight outlet or inlet through the side of a storage tank or cistern. Its threaded body goes through a cut hole, and the Push Fit socket takes the pipe.
Fitting a Polyplumb Tank Connector
Cold water storage tanks in the loft feed cylinders, baths and other outlets on low pressure systems. Each pipe leaving the tank needs a connector. The 22mm x 3/4″ is the common size for draw offs to a cylinder or bath. The 15mm x 1/2″ suits smaller feeds, and the 28mm x 1″ suits bigger tanks and supplies.

Cut the hole with the right size hole saw, so the connector fits snugly. Put a washer on each side of the tank wall, and tighten the back nut firmly without crushing a plastic tank. Which tank connector suits a cylinder feed from the loft tank?
The 22mm x 3/4″ is the usual size for draw offs to a cylinder or bath. Use 15mm x 1/2″ for smaller feeds.
How do I seal a tank connector in a plastic tank?
Put a washer on each side of the tank wall and tighten the back nut firmly, but not so hard that it distorts the tank.
How far above the tank bottom should the outlet be?
Keep it clear of the bottom so sediment is not drawn into the pipe. Fit a gate valve on each outlet as well.
