Mark the pipe, set it square in the jaw and close the cutter steadily. Keep it straight, not twisting, so the end comes out square. On multilayer pipe, calibrate and deburr the end afterwards if the fitting maker asks for it. Clean the blade after use and change it when cuts get ragged.
