Speedfit PEX Barrier Pipe 15mm is John Guest’s cross-linked polyethylene (PE-X) plastic pipe in straight lengths, for hot and cold water and central heating.
Speedfit PEX Barrier Pipe 15mm uses
15mm is the everyday size for radiator tails, basin and bath feeds and most domestic hot and cold runs. Being flexible, it threads under floors and through joists far more easily than copper, and the barrier layer helps keep oxygen out of heating water. It’s made to BS 7291 Class S. It’s white and joins with Speedfit Push Fit fittings.

Always fit a Speedfit pipe insert in the end of the pipe before pushing it into a fitting, as the insert supports the pipe wall. Cut with proper plastic pipe cutters so the end is square and clean, not a hacksaw. Mark the depth, push the pipe right in and pull back on it to test the grip. Common Questions
Why buy 15mm Speedfit in straight lengths?
Straight lengths are neater on exposed runs and easier to carry for small jobs. Coils make more sense on long first fix runs.
Can 15mm Speedfit pipe be used with Compression fittings?
It can, provided a Speedfit pipe insert is fitted first so the olive does not crush the pipe.
How far does 15mm pipe go into a Speedfit fitting?
Push it right to the pipe stop. A pen mark at the insertion depth shows at a glance that the pipe is seated.
