Fire Torch TT2200 for soldering and brazing, with push-button piezo ignition. Runs on MAP-Plus or propane gas cartridges and has a lock for continuous use on longer jobs. At Plumb Parts in Glasgow.
The Fire Torch TT2200 is a gas blow torch for soldering copper joints, brazing and general heating jobs. It runs on either MAP-Plus or propane cartridges and lights with a built-in piezo igniter, so there is no need for a spark lighter.
Fire torch TT2200 features
A push button lights the flame instantly. There is a safety lock to stop it going off by accident in the bag, and an ignition lock for continuous use, so you are not holding the button down while you work round a joint. The flame is adjustable, and the brass tip can be replaced when it wears. MAP-Plus gives a hotter flame than propane, which helps on bigger fittings.
Screw the cartridge on straight and only hand tight, then check for any smell of gas before lighting. Work with a heat mat behind the joint, keep a fire extinguisher or water nearby, and watch out for timber and insulation. Let the torch cool before packing it away, and take the cartridge off for transport. Heat mats and other tools are in our tools section.

Common Questions
MAP-Plus or propane for soldering?
MAP-Plus burns hotter, so it heats bigger fittings faster. Propane is fine for most domestic small bore joints.
How do I lock the flame on?
The TT2200 has an ignition lock so it stays lit without holding the button. Switch the lock off and close the gas when you put it down.
Can the nozzle be replaced?
Yes, it has a replaceable brass tip, so a worn or damaged tip does not mean a new torch.
