The Torbeck 2 Adjustable Height Bottom Entry Fill Valve is a 1/2″ toilet fill valve bottom entry type, for cisterns fed from underneath. You can choose a brass shank or a plastic shank. It is what you need on most close coupled toilets and many concealed cisterns, and it suits plumbers and householders replacing a valve that runs on or fills slowly.
The body is telescopic, so you set it to the depth of your cistern rather than hunting for a valve of the exact height. It fits up through the hole in the base of the cistern, with the supply coming from below, often on a short braided connector or copper tail. Set the shut off level below the overflow. Do the backnut up by hand on a ceramic cistern and fit a service valve on the feed.
We stock both shank options. Collect from our Glasgow shop or order online.

Common Questions
How does a bottom entry fill valve work?
Water comes up through the base of the cistern into the valve. A float rises as the cistern fills and shuts the valve off at the level you set.
How do I fit a bottom entry fill valve?
Turn off the water and empty the cistern. Undo the old backnut and take the old valve out, set the new one to height, fit it through the hole with its washer and tighten the backnut by hand. Connect the supply, turn on and check for leaks.
Why does my toilet fill up on its own?
Usually the flush valve seal is letting water pass into the pan, so the fill valve tops the cistern up. Check the flush valve washer before you change the fill valve.
Brass shank or plastic shank?
A brass shank gives a stronger thread that is harder to damage when you tighten the backnut. A plastic shank is fine on most domestic cisterns.
