Tube Tru-Blu Pipe Sealant 50g is a thread sealing paste in a handy tube, for making leak free threaded joints. Brush or squeeze it onto male threads. Available from Plumb Parts in Glasgow.
Tube Tru-Blu Pipe Sealant 50g is a thread sealant paste for screwed pipe joints. You apply it to the male thread before assembly, and it fills the gaps between the threads as they tighten.
Why use Tube Tru-Blu Pipe Sealant
Tube Tru-Blu Pipe Sealant 50g is an alternative to tape. PTFE tape is fine on many jobs, but some fitters prefer paste on fittings that may need a slight back turn to line up. A paste also gets right into the thread roots. The small 50g tube is easy to keep in a toolbag, and you do not need a separate brush.
- Size: 50g tube
- Thread sealing paste
- For male threads on screwed pipe joints
- Squeeze straight from the tube
Clean the threads of old tape, paste and oil first. Apply an even coat to the male thread only, working it into the threads, and leave the first thread clear so paste does not get pushed into the pipe. Assemble and tighten as normal. Always check the label to confirm it suits the system you are working on. For other jointing products, browse our Sealants.

Common Questions
How much pipe sealant should I use?
A thin, even coat on the male thread is enough, worked into the threads. Too much just squeezes into the pipe bore, so keep it off the first thread or two.
Should I use paste or PTFE tape?
Both seal threads. Paste is handy on larger or rough threads and fills gaps well, while tape is clean and quick on small fittings. Some fitters use both on tricky joints.
Is it safe for gas or drinking water?
Check the tube for the approvals that apply to your job before using it on gas or on a drinking water supply. Only a Gas Safe registered engineer may work on gas pipework.
