Description

On an Xpress Yorkshire Press-Fit Copper Both Ends Reduced Tee, both run ends are smaller than the branch. A 22 x 22 x 28mm tee, for example, has 22mm on the run and a 28mm branch. All three ends are Press-Fit.

Where it’s used

This is the tee you need where a bigger main feeds into a pair of smaller pipes going opposite ways. Think of a 28mm flow splitting into two 22mm legs to different zones, or a 22mm feed dividing into two 15mm branches. Without it you’d need an equal tee and two reducers, which means extra joints.

Like the rest of Xpress copper, it suits water and heating work, but not gas.

Sizes available

  • 15 x 15 x 22mm
  • 22 x 22 x 28mm
  • 28 x 28 x 35mm

The last figure is the branch, which is the larger size.

Fitting tips

Check the size marking before you press, as it’s easy to fit a reduced tee the wrong way round in a hurry. Cut and deburr the copper, mark the insertion depth on each pipe, and line the tee up before pressing. You’ll need jaws for both sizes.

Equal and reducing tees are in our Xpress copper Press-Fit fittings.

Common Questions

What does both ends reduced mean on a tee?

Both run ends are smaller than the branch. So 22 x 22 x 28mm has 22mm runs and a 28mm branch.

Where would I use a both ends reduced tee?

Where a bigger pipe feeds into two smaller legs going opposite ways, such as a 28mm flow splitting to two 22mm zones. It saves an equal tee and two reducers.

Can I use it on gas?

No, it is an Xpress water and heating fitting with an EPDM seal. Use Xpress Gas fittings and a Gas Safe engineer for gas.
