The Xpress Yorkshire Press-Fit Copper Female Elbow takes copper round a corner onto a male thread in one fitting: a press socket for the copper on one side, and a female BSP thread on the other, at 90 degrees.
What it’s used for
It goes onto male threaded tails, valve ends, pump connections and threaded nipples, where the pipe has to leave at right angles. Fitting one elbow instead of an adaptor plus an elbow keeps things tidy in tight spaces and saves a joint.
Like all the Xpress copper range, it’s for hot and cold water services, vented and sealed heating and chilled water. It is not suitable for gas.

Fitting tips
- Make the threaded joint first, with the elbow pointing where you need it.
- Seal the male thread it goes onto with PTFE tape or a suitable sealant.
- Cut the copper square, deburr, mark the insertion depth and press.
- Keep the press jaws square to the fitting so the joint closes evenly all the way round.

The 22mm x 3/4″ size. The 35mm x 1.1/4″ and 54mm x 2″ are for larger plant connections.
Should I make the threaded joint first?
Yes. Seal and tighten the thread with the elbow pointing where you need it, then press the copper last.
Is the female elbow suitable for chilled water?
Yes. Xpress copper water fittings cover chilled water as well as heating and hot and cold water, so insulate it with the rest of the run.
