The Xpress Yorkshire Press-Fit Copper Stop End caps off a copper pipe with one press. Slide it onto the tube, press it, and the end is sealed. No flame, no flux, and no wait for it to cool.
What it’s used for
Use it for blanking off a dead leg after a strip-out, capping a tee you’ll come back to, or closing off a run on first fix so you can pressure test the rest. It is also useful on heating systems when a radiator has been taken off for good and you want a proper permanent cap rather than a Compression blank.
Like other Xpress copper fittings, this stop end is used on water supplies, vented or sealed heating and chilled water. For gas, use the Xpress Gas range.
Sizes available
15mm, 22mm, 28mm, 35mm, 42mm, 54mm, 66.7mm and 76.1mm. That covers domestic pipework through to large commercial mains.
Fitting tips
- Cut the pipe square and deburr it so the O-ring isn’t damaged.
- Mark the insertion depth and push the cap on until it reaches the mark.
- Leak Before Press means an unpressed cap will show itself when the system is tested, so you’ll know if one’s been missed.

Common Questions
Can a press stop end be removed?
No, a pressed stop end is permanent. Cut behind it to extend the pipe later.
Is a press stop end better than a Compression blank?
It is a permanent cap with no nut to work loose, which suits dead legs and capped heating tails. A Compression blank can be undone later.
Can I pressure test against a stop end?
Yes, that is a common first fix use. Press it fully and check the depth mark first.
