The Xpress Yorkshire Press-Fit Gas Copper Female Branch Tee is a Press-Fit tee for gas pipework, with press ends on the copper run and a 1/2″ female BSP threaded branch. Yellow gas markings set it apart from the water fittings.
What it’s used for
It takes a threaded connection off a gas run, for a test point, a meter outlet arrangement, or a threaded valve or appliance connection. The range is for above-ground second and third family gases, which covers natural gas and LPG, in internal and external pipework.
Only a Gas Safe registered engineer should install it. Once the joints are made, the pipework needs a tightness test before anything goes back into use.

Fitting tips
- Keep paint, flux, grease, solvents and lagging adhesives off the fittings.
- Leave the yellow marking on show so the next engineer can see what the pipe carries.
- Make the threaded connection before pressing, and use a gas-rated thread sealant.

No. Fitting an Xpress Gas branch tee is legally a job for someone on the Gas Safe register, who then tightness tests the pipework.
How can I tell a gas press fitting from a water one?
Xpress Gas fittings carry yellow markings and a yellow HNBR seal. The water fittings use EPDM and have different marking.
