What pressure should I set it to?
Check the instructions for the appliances on the supply. Many systems run around 3 bar, but the cylinder or boiler maker's figure comes first.
Where does a PRV go?
On the incoming main after the stopcock, with a strainer in front of it to keep grit off the seat.
Why fit one with a gauge?
The gauge shows the outlet pressure so you can set it right and check it later.
