Common Questions
How do I open a drain off cock?
Push a hose onto the outlet, then turn the square head with a drain key or small spanner, a quarter to half a turn is usually plenty.
Why does my drain cock keep dripping?
Grit on the seat or a worn washer. Open and close it a few times to flush the seat; if it still drips, change it.
What is a sludge cock?
A larger bore drain for heating systems, so sludge and debris flush out instead of blocking a small outlet.
