Fluidmaster bottom inlet WC fill valve with 1/2″ plastic shank, height about 230mm to 360mm. Collect from 555 South Street, Glasgow.

Description

The Fluidmaster WC Fill Valve is a bottom inlet cistern valve with a 1/2″ plastic shank. The height sets from about 230mm to 360mm, so one Fluidmaster fill valve suits most close coupled and low level cisterns. It is for plumbers and householders sorting a cistern that hisses, runs on or fills slowly.

It fits up through the hole in the base of the cistern, with the supply coming from below. The float slides on the body, so there is no float arm to catch on the flush valve. It works on mains or tank fed supplies. Fit a service valve on the feed so you can work on it later without turning off the house.

We stock genuine Fluidmaster valves. Collect from our Glasgow shop or order online.

Common Questions

Which Fluidmaster fill valve do I need?

Look at where the water pipe goes into the cistern. If it comes up through the base, you need a bottom entry valve like this one. If it goes in through the side near the top, you need a side entry valve.

How do I adjust the water level?

There is an adjuster on the float. Move it a little at a time and let the cistern refill until the water stops below the overflow.

How does a Fluidmaster fill valve work?

As the cistern fills, the float rises with the water. When it reaches the set level it closes the valve, and when you flush it drops and lets water back in.

Brass shank or plastic shank?

A brass shank gives a stronger thread that is harder to damage when you tighten the backnut. A plastic shank is fine on most domestic cisterns.
