Banico Motorised Zone Valve 2 Port and 3 Port 1/2 Inch to 1 Inch

The Banico Motorised Zone Valve opens and closes a heating or hot water zone when the programmer or thermostat calls for it. We carry the full Banico range: ZV 2 port zone valves, ZVM 3 port mid position valves and ZVD 3 port diverter valves, in 1/2, 3/4 and 1 inch female BSP, 22mm and 28mm compression, and 3/4 and 1 inch compression for imperial pipe. Most come with a metal or a plastic cover, and the 2 port also comes with an indicating light so you can see when it is open.

The 2 port valve is spring return, so it closes when the power drops. The ZVM sits where the flow splits on a Y plan system and can feed heating and hot water together. The ZVD diverter feeds one or the other. Banico fit a 1m five core cable in standard colours and a 3A auxiliary switch for the boiler and pump. We also sell the H-ZV replacement heads in metal and plastic for the 2 port, mid position and diverter valves, and Banico say the 2 port head fits Banico, Honeywell and Tower 2 port bodies.

The valve runs on mains voltage. Isolate the supply and wire it to the system diagram, or have a competent heating engineer do it.

Common Questions

Do I need a 2 port or a 3 port valve?

Go by the system you have. Separate valves on the heating and hot water legs is an S plan, so 2 port. One valve where the flow splits is a Y plan, so 3 port mid position.

What is the difference between a diverter and a mid position valve?

A diverter feeds heating or hot water but never both at once. A mid position valve can feed both together, so check what the old valve was before swapping.

What is the 3/4 inch or 1 inch compression valve for?

It suits older imperial copper pipe. If your pipe is threaded, take the BSP valve instead.

Can I just change the head?

Often, yes. If the brass body is sound and not passing, a new head is the quicker job and the system does not need drained down.
