Climaflex pipe insulation 15mm x 13mm is the size most plumbers lag a house with. It fits 15mm pipe, has a 13mm foam wall, and this one comes as a 2 metre length.
Where Climaflex pipe insulation 15mm x 13mm goes
Radiator flows and returns under floors, cold feeds in the loft, and hot pipes in the airing cupboard all run in 15mm. A 13mm wall is a good middle option. It cuts heat loss on hot pipes and helps keep cold pipes from sweating, but it is still slim enough to fit in a notched joist. The foam is closed cell polyethylene, so it does not soak up water.
- Bore: 15mm
- Wall thickness: 13mm
- Length: 2m
- For heating and water pipes
Cut it with a sharp blade, not scissors, so the ends stay square. Push lengths tight together and tape the joints. At an elbow, cut a mitre and tape it closed, because a crushed bend leaves the pipe bare where it matters. In the loft, lag right up to the tank connections.

Other sizes sit under pipes, hoses and insulation.

Common Questions
Is 13mm the standard lagging for 15mm pipe?
It is the common grade for 15mm heating and hot water pipes indoors. It saves heat without taking up much room under floors or in cupboards.
Should cold pipes in the loft get 13mm lagging?
A thicker wall gives better frost cover in a cold loft. Keep this grade for pipes inside the heated part of the house.
How many 2m lengths cover a 12m run of 15mm pipe?
Six lengths cover 12m of straight pipe. Pick up a spare for bends and the pieces round valves.
