Hep2O Standard Pipe 15mm to 22mm

Hep2O Standard Pipe is white polybutylene plumbing pipe in straight 3m lengths, made to push straight into Hep2O fittings. Standard means it has no oxygen barrier layer, which is fine for hot and cold domestic water.

Straight lengths make sense for short runs and for pipe that will be on show, where a coil would leave you fighting a curve. Typical jobs are replacing a section under a sink, short drops in an airing cupboard, and tidy surface runs. For heating, most fitters go for barrier pipe instead.

Hep2O Standard Pipe sizes

The pipe is printed with small ‘^’ marks. Cut squarely at one of those with proper plastic pipe cutters, not a hacksaw, and make sure the end is free of burrs. Push a Hep2O SmartSleeve support sleeve into the end every time, then push the pipe firmly into the fitting until you feel it go home and tug back to check. A HepKey releases Hep2O fittings if you need to take a joint apart. Hep2O is not for gas, oil or buried supply pipes.

What is the difference between standard and barrier Hep2O?

Barrier pipe has a layer in the wall that stops oxygen getting into the water, which matters on heating. Standard pipe has no barrier, so it is kept for hot and cold water.

Can I use standard pipe for a short radiator tail?

Most fitters use barrier pipe on any heating work so no oxygen can get into the system. For hot and cold water lengths, this standard pipe is fine.

How do I join it to a Compression fitting?

Put a pipe support insert in the end first so the olive has something firm to grip. Check the Compression fitting maker says it suits plastic pipe.
