Compression Equal Tee 8mm to 54mm

This is a brass compression equal tee, with all three ends the same size. As well as the 22mm compression tee, we list it in 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, 28mm, 35mm, 42mm and 54mm. It suits plumbers, heating engineers and anyone doing a repair where a blowlamp is not welcome.

It takes a branch off a running pipe at 90 degrees. Each end makes its seal with a nut and olive that grip the pipe as you tighten up, so there is no heat and no solder. It joins copper pipe, and it will also go on plastic pipe of the same outside size if you put a pipe insert in the end first. Cut the pipe square, take off any burr, slide on the nut and olive, push the pipe fully home and tighten with two spanners.

Can I get this tee with a smaller branch? No, an equal tee is the same size on all three ends. For a 15mm branch off a 22mm run, you need a reducing tee.

How tight should the nuts be? Do them up by hand, then give a firm turn with a spanner while a second spanner holds the body. If it weeps, tighten a little at a time, as going too far crushes the olive.
