Stepping a pipe run down from one size to another is the whole job of a Compression Reducing Coupler. Each end has its own nut and olive, sized to suit the bigger pipe on one side and the smaller pipe on the other.
Using a Compression Reducing Coupler
A typical use is dropping from a 22mm main run to a 15mm tail for a tap, or from 15mm down to 10mm microbore for a radiator. On bigger jobs, the same idea takes 54mm, 42mm or 35mm mains down to the branch size you need.
If you join plastic pipe, put a pipe insert in the plastic end so the olive has something firm to grip. Copper just needs a clean, square, deburred end. Tighten each nut while holding the body still, so the coupler does not twist the other joint.

How do I fit a 22mm to 15mm Compression reducing coupler?
Cut both pipes square and deburr them. Put the 22mm nut and olive on the bigger pipe and the 15mm ones on the smaller, push both fully in and tighten each with the body held.
How does a 15mm to 10mm reducer work on microbore?
The 15mm end goes on the main or tee and the 10mm end takes the microbore pipe to the radiator. Microbore is soft, so go easy on that nut.
Can one end take plastic and the other copper?
Yes, as long as the plastic end has the insert its maker specifies. Copper only needs a clean, round, deburred end.
