Copper Saddle Clips are simple strap clips that hold copper pipe against a wall, sold here from 15mm to 54mm. They are a good pick for plumbers and DIYers fixing pipe that will be left on show, as the copper finish matches the tube.
What it’s used for
The clip is a curved strap with a fixing lug each side. It sits over the pipe and two screws pull it tight to the surface, so the pipe is held flat to brickwork, timber or a board. You see them on heating and water pipes in kitchens, plant rooms and garages.
Sizes available
- 15mm radiator and water pipes.
- 22mm heating flow and return and mains.
- 28mm bigger heating runs.
- 35mm commercial pipework.
- 42mm larger mains and plant rooms.
- 54mm the biggest size we list in this clip.
Fitting tips
Clip copper pipe roughly every 1.2m to 1.8m on horizontal runs, closer for smaller pipe and on show, and put a clip near each bend and fitting. Use screws to suit the wall, with plugs in masonry. Do not overtighten on hot pipes, as the pipe needs room to move a little as it heats up.

Common Questions
Why use copper clips instead of plastic?
They look tidy on pipe left on show and will not go brittle near heat. Plastic suits hidden pipe.
Do saddle clips hold the pipe off the wall?
No, a saddle clip holds the pipe flat against the surface. If you want a gap behind the pipe, use a spacer clip instead.
Can I paint them?
Yes. Give them a light key and a primer first if you are painting the pipe to match the wall.
