The Eden angled TRV 15mm is a thermostatic radiator valve for pipes rising from the floor. It reads the room temperature and opens or closes to match the setting you pick on the head. Available from Plumb Parts, Glasgow.
An Eden angled TRV 15mm is the valve you want where the heating pipe comes up out of the floorboards and has to turn into the side of the radiator. The angled body makes that 90 degree turn for you, and the thermostatic head then looks after the room temperature.
How the Eden angled TRV 15mm works
Inside the head is a sensor that swells as the room warms up. As it expands it pushes the valve pin down and cuts the flow of hot water into the rad. When the room cools, it backs off and lets water through again. So you set a number once and the valve does the work, which saves heating a bedroom like a sauna.
- 15mm pipe connection, angled pattern
- Thermostatic head with a numbered scale
- Suits pipework coming up from the floor
- Goes on one end of the rad, with a lockshield on the other
Fit it on the flow pipe unless the valve says it is two way. Also leave one rad without a TRV in the room that has the wall thermostat, otherwise the two controls end up fighting each other. If you are swapping an old manual valve, drain the system down first or freeze the pipe.
Other valves and fittings for rads sit in our radiators and accessories range.

Common Questions
What is the difference between an angled and a straight TRV?
An angled valve turns the water through 90 degrees, so it suits pipes coming up from the floor. A straight valve keeps everything in line and is for pipes that run in from the wall. This Eden valve is the angled one.
Which number should I set a TRV head to?
Somewhere in the middle of the scale suits most living rooms, with a lower number for bedrooms and halls. Give it a day at each setting before changing it again, because the head reacts slowly.
Can I fit a TRV without draining the whole system?
On most sealed systems you will need to drain down at least part of the circuit. Some fitters freeze the pipe instead, which saves draining but needs the right kit and care.
