The End Feed 45 Degree Obtuse Elbow is a copper solder bend that turns a pipe through 45 degrees, and we have it from 10mm to 108mm. Plumbers use it for offsets, gentle turns and getting round obstacles without a sharp right angle.
Where it goes
Two of these make a neat offset to step a pipe round a joist, beam or another pipe. A 45 degree turn also eases flow compared with a square bend, which helps on long heating runs and larger pipework.

Fitting tips
For an offset, cut the middle piece and dry fit both bends first so the pipe lines up before any heat goes on. Clean and flux both joints, then heat the fitting and feed solder until a full ring shows. Let it cool before you move it. Use lead free solder on drinking water.

Common Questions
What does obtuse elbow mean?
It is the trade name for a 45 degree bend. The usual elbow turns 90 degrees.
How do I make an offset with these elbows?
Use two of them with a short straight piece between. Measure the distance you need to step over and dry fit before soldering.
Is a 45 degree bend better for flow?
It turns the water more gently than a 90 degree elbow. That means less resistance in the run.
