FloPlast White Compression 135° Elbow – WC19 40mm

On 40mm wastes, the FloPlast White Compression 135° Elbow WC19 gives a 45 degree change of direction using Compression joints. The body is white, and each end has its own nut and seal.

Using the FloPlast White Compression 135° Elbow WC19

Sink, bath and shower wastes often need to dodge a joist, a pipe or the leg of a unit. A gentle 45 degree turn keeps flow moving and makes the pipe easier to rod. Two together make an offset.

Cut square, deburr, and fit the nut and seal to each pipe. Push fully home and tighten by hand, then a little more.

Because nothing is glued, the run can be changed later.

Keep a fall throughout, and clip close to the bend. Under a kitchen unit, route the pipe where bins and boxes will not knock it loose. A Compression bend is also handy for joining onto old pipe of unknown make.

Check every nut for weeping with hot water running, since Compression seals sometimes need a final nip once warm.

Can the WC19 be fitted behind a bath panel?

Yes, and the Compression joints suit that job because they can be undone again. Test with the bath full and draining before the panel goes back on.

What is the difference between the WC18 and the WC19?

Only the size. The WC19 is the 40mm version for sinks, baths and showers, and the WC18 is the 32mm basin size.

Can I glue a Compression bend instead?

No. These fittings are made to seal with the nut and ring, and solvent cement does not bond polypropylene, so glue will not hold.
