Where the gap under a bath is small, the FloPlast White Shallow Bath Trap with Eye 20mm Seal x 40mm is one of the slimmest options. It is a low, compact trap with a 40mm outlet, and the eye gives an access point for clearing the trap without stripping it out.
About the shallow bath trap with eye
Older baths, and some baths set on solid floors, have hardly any room below the waste. A deeper trap just will not fit. This shallow trap keeps the height down so the outlet can still clear the floor. Because the seal is shallow, it pays to keep the waste run short and simple, so the water in the trap is not pulled out when the bath empties.
Fitting and checking
Seat the washer on the bath waste and tighten the trap by hand. Connect the 40mm outlet with the Compression nut, keeping the pipe falling away from the bath. Make sure you can still reach the eye once the bath panel is on, or there is little point having it. Fill the bath, drain it fully and listen. A loud gurgle at the end can mean the seal is being sucked out, so the waste may need venting.

Common Questions
Why is the seal only 20mm?
The shallow body is what lets it fit where nothing else will. The trade-off is a seal that is easier to pull out, so keep the waste run short.
What is the eye for?
It is a cleaning access in the trap, so you can clear a blockage without taking the trap off the bath.
