Going from a stainless press run into a male threaded valve, strainer or meter is done with the Geberit Mapress 316 Stainless Steel Adaptor Female Thread. A press socket takes the pipe, and a female thread takes the male part.

Several thread sizes are offered on most pipe sizes, so you can reduce or increase as you change material. For example, a 28mm x 1/2″ lets a small valve come straight off a 28mm line. In plant rooms, the larger sizes connect to threaded strainers, check valves and meters.
Make up the threaded joint first so the pressed seal never takes spanner torque. Use a thread sealant that suits 316 stainless steel, and hold the adaptor while you tighten. Then cut the pipe square, deburr, mark the depth, push in and press with the right jaw. When ordering, read the size as pipe first, then thread. How do I read the sizes on this adaptor?
The millimetre figure is the stainless pipe and the inch figure is the female thread. So 28mm x 1″ means 28mm pipe into a 1″ thread.
Can I use it to change from stainless to copper?
Yes, a threaded joint is how Geberit say to move from Mapress 316 Stainless Steel to a different material. Fit a male adaptor from the other system into this female thread.
Will the 54mm x 2″ take a strainer?
It suits any equipment with a 2″ male thread, strainers and check valves included. Support the strainer separately, because the pipe joint should not carry its weight.
