When stainless press pipe has to turn a corner into a female threaded port, use this Geberit Mapress 316 Stainless Steel Elbow Adaptor 90 Deg Male Thread. It has a press socket for stainless tube and, at right angles to it, a male thread.
Where a Geberit Mapress 316 Stainless Steel Elbow Adaptor 90 Deg Male Thread fits
Female ports appear on valve bodies, strainers, cylinders and tank bosses. Where the pipe arrives from the side, this elbow adaptor connects it with a single fitting. That means fewer joints to make and less to check at commissioning.
- 15mm x 1/2″
- 22mm x 3/4″ and 28mm x 1″
- 35mm x 1.1/4″ and 42mm x 1.1/2″
- 54mm x 2″
Each pipe size has a single thread size here, which keeps ordering easy. The threaded joint should be made before pressing, using a sealant that suits 316 stainless steel. Line up the elbow, then press the socket end once the pipe is cut, deburred and marked. If the fitting needs to be tightened further to line up, do it before pressing, never after. Support the pipe near the elbow so the threaded port is not carrying weight. You can find the female thread elbow adaptor under Geberit Mapress 316 stainless steel as well.

Common Questions
What is a male elbow? A fitting that turns the pipe through 90 degrees and finishes in an outside thread. This one is pressed onto stainless Mapress pipe and screws into a female threaded part.
What sizes does the stainless male elbow come in? From 15mm x 1/2 inch up to 54mm x 2 inch. Pick the thread to suit what you’re connecting to.
Is it suitable for heating circuits? Yes, it’s for heating and cooling water as well as hot and cold drinking water, up to 16 bar.
Why is it made from 1.4401 stainless? That grade contains molybdenum, which gives it good resistance to corrosion over the long term.
How do I know if the elbow has been pressed? Check the blue pressing indicator, which also has the size printed on it. A joint left unpressed will leak as soon as you pressure test.
Can I collect stainless Mapress at the weekend? Yes, our counter at 555 South Street, Glasgow is open 8am to 1pm on Saturday and Sunday, as well as 8am to 5pm on weekdays.
