How the Geberit Mapress 316 Stainless Steel Flanged Stub Plain End for Loose Flange PN 10/16 works

The loose flange slides over the stub and bears against the collar. Because the flange is free to turn, you can line its bolt holes up with the equipment without twisting the pipe. The plain end then pushes into a Mapress press socket, such as a coupling or tee, and is pressed.

Remember the loose flange itself is a separate item, so order it alongside the stub. Slide it on before you make the pressed joint, otherwise it cannot go on afterwards. Bolt the flange to the equipment with a suitable gasket, tightening evenly round the bolt circle. Mark the plain end for depth, push it into the socket and press. Is the loose flange included?

No, the stub and the loose flange are separate items. Order both together, and slide the flange onto the stub before any pressing, because it will not go on afterwards.

Why use a loose flange?

A loose flange turns freely on the stub. That means the bolt holes can be lined up with the pump or valve without twisting the pressed pipe.

Does the stub press straight onto pipe?

No, it has a plain end. That end pushes into the socket of a Mapress coupling, elbow or tee, and the socket is pressed with the jaw for the size.
