The Geberit Mapress 316 Stainless Steel Pipe Nipple is the part to use when two press fittings need to meet with nothing in between. It is a short stainless piece whose plain ends go into the sockets of the neighbouring fittings.
Why use a Geberit Mapress 316 Stainless Steel Pipe Nipple
A very short length of tube is awkward to cut and its ends are hard to prepare properly. A ready made nipple avoids that, with clean, consistent plain ends every time. It lets you close couple valves, tees and elbows on manifolds and pump sets, keeping the build short and neat.
Mark the insertion depth on each end of the nipple, because there is no stop in the middle to guide you. Push one end into its fitting, press it, then bring the next fitting on and press that. Check both depth marks before each press. Plan the order of pressing, as the jaws need room around every joint and close coupled fittings can get in the way. No. Stainless nipples belong with Mapress 316 Stainless Steel fittings only. Mixing systems can bring corrosion and the press profiles are matched.
What is 1.4401 stainless?
It is 316 stainless steel alloyed with molybdenum, also called 316, and it copes well with chlorides in water.
Are the 76mm and 89mm nipples metric tube sizes?
Yes. The listing rounds them, and Geberit size these nipples to their large bore stainless tube, so match the tube marking before ordering.
