Grundfos Conlift1 Condensate Pump

The Grundfos Conlift1 Condensate Pump lifts condensate away from a condensing boiler when there is no drain below it to fall to by gravity. We keep both the Conlift1 LS and the standard Conlift1 for heating engineers working in basements, cellars and on inside walls across Glasgow.

The pump sits in a small tank that fills from the boiler condensate outlet. When the water reaches the float it switches on and pushes the condensate up and along to a soil stack or drain. Grundfos build both models for acidic condensate from gas and oil condensing boilers, as well as air conditioning and fridge units, as long as the pH is 2.5 or above. The Conlift1 LS is the lower cost version of the same pump, while the standard Conlift1 comes with a full fitting kit including hose, inlet adaptors and wall fixings.

The main thing on the job is the overflow switch. Wire it to the boiler so the boiler shuts down if the pump ever fails, rather than the tank spilling over the floor. Run the discharge in solid pipe to a proper drain connection with an air break so it cannot siphon back, and fit the pump where you can get at it to clean, as condensate leaves deposits in the tank over time.

Common Questions

When do I need a condensate pump? When the boiler condensate cannot fall to a drain by gravity, for example a boiler in a cellar or on an inside wall with no drain below it.

What is the difference between the Conlift1 LS and the Conlift1? They do the same job with the same size of tank. The LS is the lower cost version, and the standard Conlift1 comes boxed with a full fitting kit.

Should the pump be wired to the boiler? Yes. Wire the overflow switch so the boiler stops if the pump fails, instead of the tank overflowing.
