The JG Speedfit 10mm x 15mm Stem Coupler (PEM061510W) has a 15mm stem that plugs into any 15mm Speedfit socket and a 10mm push-fit socket, for microbore tails on copper or Speedfit barrier pipe. Collect from our Glasgow shop at 555 South Street G14 0QX.
The JG Speedfit 10mm x 15mm Stem Coupler is a reducer with a 10mm push-fit socket on one end and a 15mm plastic stem on the other, maker code PEM061510W. It’s for heating engineers running microbore tails from 15mm Speedfit fittings.
The stem is the same size as 15mm pipe, so it pushes into any 15mm Speedfit socket just as a length of pipe would. Instead of fitting a 15mm tee and then a separate reducer on a stub of pipe, push the stem straight into the tee’s branch and run 10mm from the socket end. That removes a joint and a short offcut, which is a common trick on radiator tails off a 15mm circuit.
The stem needs to go fully into the receiving socket, right to the 30mm stop, the same as pipe would, and that socket’s cap must be locked. The 10mm socket takes copper as it comes, or barrier pipe with a 10mm insert. Clip the 10mm pipe so the JG Speedfit 10mm x 15mm Stem Coupler isn’t twisted. Microbore tees and elbows are in our JG Speedfit fittings and pipe section.

Common Questions
What is the stem end for? The stem is the same outside size as the pipe, so it pushes into the socket of another Speedfit fitting where a short offcut would otherwise go. It can swivel in that socket, which helps line things up in a tight corner.
Can I use metal reducing sets in the radiator valves? Not with Speedfit. The metal sets that turn a 15mm radiator valve into 10mm can damage plastic pipe and fittings, so Speedfit say not to use them. Fit valves made for 10mm instead.
Do I need an insert with this fitting? On Speedfit plastic barrier pipe, yes: push a 10mm Speedfit insert fully into each cut end before it goes in. Copper tube needs no insert. Speedfit only want their inserts used in their own pipe.
How much heat will 10mm pipe carry? Speedfit’s sizing table puts 10mm at about 1.9kW, based on a flow speed of 1.2m/s and an 11°C drop. Use that as a rough guide when you plan how many radiators a run can feed.
