Description

We keep Jubilee Clips in large sizes alongside our flexible rubber drainage connectors, so you can replace a lost or rusted clamp or add an extra one on a bigger coupling. These are worm drive clips: a slotted band that tightens round the joint as you turn the screw.

What they’re used for

Every rubber coupling, cap, tee and soil adaptor relies on its clips to seal. Over the years clips on old drains and stacks can corrode or get chewed by a careless spanner, so having spares saves a trip. Most people now call any worm drive hose clip a Jubilee clip.

Sizes available

Our clips are sold by nominal size, which suits the larger drainage connectors. Worm drive clips work over a range of diameters, so if you’re not sure which one you need, bring the connector or a measurement of the outside of the rubber and we’ll match it.

Fitting tips

Open the clip fully, wrap it round the connector, feed the band back into the housing and tighten with a flat screwdriver or nut driver. Seat it square on the rubber, close to the end of the pipe but not over the edge. Tighten evenly on both ends of a coupling, and stop once the rubber is firmly gripped. Overtightening can strip the band or cut the rubber. Use them with our flexible rubber connectors for drainage, waste and rainwater work.

Common Questions

Which clip fits my rubber coupling?

Measure round the outside of the rubber where the clip will sit, or bring the connector in. Worm drive clips close down over a range, so match the clip to that measurement, not just the pipe size.

Can I reuse an old rusty clip?

Better not. A corroded band can snap as you tighten it or let go later, and a new clip costs far less than a leaking drain.

How tight should the clip be?

Tighten until the rubber is gripped firmly and cannot turn on the pipe, then stop. Overtightening strips the band or cuts into the rubber.
