A Flexible Rubber Tee lets you take a branch off a waste, soil or drainage pipe without solvent welding or matching a particular pipe system. Each end slips over a plain pipe and is clamped tight with a worm drive clip.
What it’s used for
These come out when the pipes don’t match. Picture an old cast iron stack with a new plastic branch, a run where the existing pipe has an odd outside diameter, or a quick repair where you can’t get a proper fitting in. Because the body is flexible it will take up a little misalignment between the three pipes, though it’s no substitute for setting the pipes out properly. Rubber connectors like this are for gravity drainage, not pressurised water.
Sizes available
Sizes are nominal inch sizes. Measure the outside of each pipe before you buy, as old imperial pipe and modern metric pipe don’t always line up, and a clip can only close a connector down so far.
Fitting tips
Cut the pipe ends square and clean off any loose rust, scale or old sealant so the rubber seals on a smooth surface. Push each pipe fully into the tee, then tighten the clips evenly with a screwdriver or nut driver. Don’t overtighten and cut into the rubber. Support the pipes either side so the tee isn’t carrying their weight. If it doesn’t come with clips, or you need spares, we sell Jubilee clips in the same section. Take a look at our full flexible rubber connectors range for couplings, caps and elbows too.

Common Questions
When would I use a Flexible Rubber Tee? When you need a branch off a waste, soil or drain pipe and the pipes don’t match, such as plastic into old cast iron, or a rigid tee won’t fit.
Can it be used on water supply pipes? No, it’s for gravity waste, soil and drainage only, not pressurised water.
How do I pick the right size? Measure the outside of each pipe first. Old imperial and modern metric pipes don’t always match, and the clips can only close down so far.
How tight should the clips be? Do them up firmly and evenly. Going too tight can cut into the rubber and cause a leak.
Does a rubber tee need support? Yes, support the pipes either side so the tee isn’t carrying their weight, otherwise it can sag.
