Every pipe end that goes into a Push-Fit MDPE fitting needs support from inside, and the JG Speedfit MDPE pipe insert gives it. It stops the soft pipe from squashing, so the O-ring keeps sealing.
Why the JG Speedfit MDPE pipe insert matters
MDPE is soft compared with copper, and it creeps under load. Without an insert, the pipe can go oval or pull in over time. That is when a joint that was dry on the day starts weeping underground. An insert costs little and saves digging the job up again.
- Sizes: 20mm, 25mm and 32mm
- Fits inside MDPE pipe ends
- For JG Speedfit MDPE Push-Fit fittings
- One needed for each pipe end
Cut the pipe square, then push the insert into the bore until its lip sits on the end of the pipe. Check you have the right size for the pipe in front of you, because 25mm and 32mm can look alike in a muddy trench. Then push the pipe into the fitting as normal. Spares are worth carrying, because they are easy to drop.
