A Polyplumb Brass Female BSP Adaptor changes from a Push Fit socket to a brass female thread. It lets plastic or copper pipe connect to anything with a male BSP thread.
Where a Polyplumb Brass Female BSP Adaptor is used
Threaded connections turn up all over a system: on cylinder bosses, pump valves, filters, pressure reducing valves and some taps. This adaptor screws on to that male thread, and the pipe pushes into the other end. The brass thread is stronger than a plastic one, so it takes a spanner without trouble.

- Seal the male thread with PTFE or paste
Make the threaded joint first, before any pipe goes in, so you can turn the adaptor freely. Hold the brass part with the spanner, not the plastic body. Once the thread is sealed and tight, push in the pipe with a stiffener. For the male version, see the rest of our Polyplumb Fittings.

Common Questions
What does BSP mean?
British Standard Pipe, the usual thread on UK valves, pumps and cylinders. The size is the nominal thread size, not the outside measurement.
How do I seal a female BSP adaptor?
Seal the male thread it screws onto with PTFE tape or a suitable jointing paste.
Should the thread be made before the pipe goes in?
Yes, so the adaptor turns freely while you tighten it. Hold the brass part with the spanner.
