Description

Our Silicone Sealant Clear 310ml is a standard cartridge of clear silicone for sealing round baths, basins, shower trays and sinks, for plumbers, kitchen fitters and householders.

Clear silicone suits jobs where you want the seal to blend in, such as against tiles in different colours, glass shower screens and coloured worktops. It stays flexible once cured, so it copes with the small movement as a bath or tray takes weight. The 310ml cartridge fits a standard skeleton gun.

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of old sealant and soap before you start. Fill a bath with water before sealing so it settles to its loaded position. Tape the edges for a neat line, smooth with a tool or wet finger, and keep it dry for the curing time on the cartridge. Our listing doesn’t say whether it has a mould inhibitor, so check the cartridge for bathroom use.

For white grout lines the white version is the usual choice over silicone sealant clear 310ml. Other sealants are in our silicone and sealants section.

Common Questions

How long does silicone take to dry? It skins over in minutes but takes longer to cure fully. Keep water off it for the time on the cartridge, often a day.

How do I remove old silicone? Cut away as much as you can with a sharp blade, then use a silicone remover and clean the surface. New silicone won’t stick to old.

Why fill the bath before sealing? The weight of water settles the bath down, so the seal doesn’t crack when someone gets in.
