Fitting a Straight Washing Machine Valve

The straight pattern suits a pipe that runs along the wall and ends where the machine sits, or a supply rising vertically behind it. In those cases an angled valve would push the hose out awkwardly. Cut the pipe to length, deburr it and make the inlet joint while holding the body still. Leave the lever where it can be reached from the front or through the next unit. Common Questions

Can I use a straight valve for a dishwasher?

Yes, dishwasher fill hoses use the same 3/4″ connection as washing machines. Fit it where you can reach the lever without pulling the dishwasher out.

How do I fit it to the 15mm pipe?

Cut the pipe square, slip on the nut and olive, push the pipe into the valve and tighten. Hold the valve body with a second spanner so it stays straight.

Which way is the lever off?

Lever across the valve means off, and in line with it means on. Turn it off whenever the machine is moved or the hose is changed.
