Our 110mm Underground 30 Degree Bend Double Socket puts a modest 30 degree turn in a drain and has a Ring Seal socket on both ends. Plain pipe pushes into each side, so you can cut the pipe both ways to land the bend in exactly the right spot.
Where it’s handy
A 30 is the middle ground. It is more of a turn than a 15 but much gentler than a 45, so it suits drains that need to clear an obstacle or line up with a gully that is a bit off the main run. Double socket means you can use it with offcuts of plain pipe or the plain end of socketed lengths, with no extra couplers.
Two 30s and a short length of pipe also make a neat offset, for stepping a drain sideways round something without changing its overall direction.
Fitting tips
- Square-cut and chamfer every pipe end that goes into the sockets.
- Clean the seals, add lubricant, and push each pipe fully in before drawing back a touch.
- Keep the bend on an even gravel bed. A bend sitting on a stone will crack in time.
- Make sure the sockets are free of grit before you push anything in.
We sell it in 110mm. The single socket version is also available, and the rest of the angles are with our 110mm underground drainage bends.

Common Questions
How do I join underground pipes to a double socket bend?
Cut each pipe square, chamfer the end and clean it. Lubricate the spigot, push it into the socket until it bottoms, then pull back a little to leave room for expansion.
Is a 30 degree bend enough to go round a corner?
Not on its own. Three of them make a 90, but most fitters use two 45s or one 87.5 degree bend for a square corner and keep the 30 for easing a drain round an obstacle.
Should I fit an access point near a bend?
Building rules want drains to be rodded from access points, and a change of direction is a common place for one. Ask building standards where your layout needs chambers or rodding eyes.
