Warix Flange 22 x 1″ Female, with a 1″ female cylinder connection and two 22mm outlets. A dedicated hot draw-off for bigger shower pumps, cutting air in the supply. Supplied by Plumb Parts, Glasgow.
This Warix flange has a 1″ female cylinder connection and two 22mm outlets, for taking a dedicated hot feed to a shower pump. The 22mm outlets suit pumps that need a generous flow.
What the 22 x 1″ Warix flange does
Pumps hate air. When a shower pump shares a hot pipe with the taps, air can get drawn in, and you end up with surging, noise and temperature swings. A Warix flange gives the pump its own feed and is made to clear air from the hot supply. As a result, the shower runs steadier and the pump has an easier life.
- Cylinder connection: 1″ female
- Outlets: 2 x 22mm
- Make the outlet connections with Compression fittings
- For power showers, booster pumps and mixer showers
Check that the cylinder connection you are using matches the 1″ female thread before you order. Drain down enough to work safely, seal the thread with a suitable sealant and tighten it carefully. Connect the 22mm outlets with Compression fittings, refill, and check for drips before switching the pump on. Read the pump instructions on how its hot supply should be arranged. Other connectors are in the tank flanges section.

Common Questions
Why go for 22mm outlets?
22mm pipe carries more water with less loss, which suits a bigger pump or a pump feeding more than one outlet. Follow the pump maker’s pipe size.
Does the flange need a sealant?
Seal the thread where it meets the cylinder with a suitable thread sealant or PTFE. The outlets use Compression fittings with nuts and olives.
Can I fit a flange to an unvented cylinder?
No. These flanges are for vented cylinders fed from a cold water tank. Unvented cylinders work differently, and only a qualified unvented installer should alter them.
