Warix Flange 15 x 3/4″ MI, with a 3/4″ male cylinder connection and two 15mm outlets. Gives a separate, air-free hot feed for a pumped or mixer shower. Plumb Parts in Glasgow sells it.
A Warix flange gives a shower pump its own hot water feed straight from the cylinder, separate from the taps. This one has a 3/4″ male iron connection to the cylinder and two 15mm outlets, which take Compression fittings.
Why fit a Warix flange
A pump drawing hot water from the same pipe as the taps can pull in air, which leads to surging, noise and spluttering at the shower head. The Warix flange is made to purge air from the hot supply, so the pump gets a cleaner feed. That means steadier temperature and less wear on the pump. It is common on power showers, booster pumps, mixer showers and thermostatic mixers fed from a vented cylinder.

Drain the cylinder down below the connection before you start. Seal the thread with a sealant suited to hot water, and do not overtighten into the cylinder boss. Make the 15mm connections with Compression fittings, then refill and check for leaks before running the pump. Always follow the pump maker’s guidance on how the supply should be taken. Common Questions
Do I need a flange for my shower pump?
On a vented cylinder feeding a pump, most pump makers want a separate hot feed so air bubbles are not drawn in. A flange gives that feed; check your pump’s instructions.
Warix, Surrey or Essex flange: what is the difference?
All three give a pump its own hot feed from the cylinder. The Warix and the Surrey type screw into the top connection; an Essex is fitted through the cylinder wall instead.
Which Warix flange size suits my pump?
This one has two 15mm outlets and suits many single showers. Larger pumps may want the version with bigger outlets, so check the pump’s pipe size first.
