Catering Hose Lanyard 1.25m (code BFGHCHL-125): a restraint that ties a commercial cooker, fryer or griddle back to the wall so the gas catering hose never takes the strain. Pick it up at Plumb Parts in Glasgow.
A Catering Hose Lanyard 1.25m is a restraint that ties a commercial cooking appliance back to the wall, so the gas catering hose never takes the strain if the appliance is pulled forward.
Kitchen ranges, fryers and griddles on castors get pulled out for cleaning all the time. Without a restraint, the only thing stopping the appliance is the gas hose and its connections. The lanyard takes that load instead. It works because it’s shorter than the hose: when the appliance moves out, the lanyard goes tight before the hose is fully stretched.
Catering hose lanyard 1.25m details
Fix the wall end into solid structure with fixings that will hold if someone yanks the appliance out, and fix the other end to a solid point on the appliance frame. With the appliance pulled out as far as it’ll go, check there’s still slack in the hose. Gas work on catering appliances must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer with the right commercial qualifications. Pair it with our gas catering flex hose, and see the rest of our gas hoses for other lengths.

Common Questions
Why must the lanyard be shorter than the hose?
So it goes tight before the hose does. If the appliance is pulled out, the lanyard takes the load instead of the gas hose and its joints.
What hose length suits a 1.25m lanyard?
A gas catering hose longer than the lanyard, such as a 1.5m hose. Check there is slack left in the hose with the appliance pulled fully forward.
Where does the lanyard fix?
One end to solid wall structure and the other to a strong point on the appliance frame, using fixings that will hold if the appliance is yanked.
