Description

The Xpress Yorkshire Press-Fit Copper Obtuse Street Elbow 45 Deg has a press socket on one end and a plain copper spigot on the other. The spigot goes straight into another Xpress fitting, so you get a 45 degree change of direction with no short piece of tube in between.

Why use a street elbow

Close-coupled offsets are where these shine. Push the spigot into a tee, valve or another elbow and press it, and you’ve turned the pipe without cutting a fiddly 20mm stub. It keeps tight work neat round boilers, plant and manifolds, and cuts the number of cuts and joints.

It is part of the Xpress copper water and heating range. For gas, use the gas range.

Sizes available

Sizes run 15mm, 22mm, 28mm, 35mm, 42mm, 54mm, 66.7mm and 76.1mm.

Fitting tips

  • The spigot end is pressed by the fitting it goes into, so make sure that fitting’s socket is pushed fully over it and marked.
  • Line both ends up before pressing. Once pressed it can’t be turned.
  • On 66.7mm and 76.1mm, check your press tool and jaws cover the size.

For the press x press version and 90 degree elbows, look through our Xpress copper Press-Fit range.

Common Questions

How is the spigot end sealed?

It goes into the socket of another Xpress fitting, and that socket is pressed. Mark the depth on the spigot as you would on pipe.

What sizes are listed?

The street elbow runs from 15mm to 76.1mm, with 66.7mm included. That is the largest size listed.

When is a street elbow the better choice?

Choose it when two fittings must sit right against each other with no tube between. It keeps tight work round boilers and plant compact.
